Assembly II (2022-23)

I began collecting discarded packaging foam in early 2020 right before the pandemic hit, and I was struck by an inherent personality in many of these found foam pieces. If a singular foam piece had personality, I thought it possible to construct and assemble a group of figurative personalities from these foam pieces that worked as individual sculptures and functioned as a group. Through a year-long studio process of trial, error, and assemblage, the initial Assembly series took shape. Assembly II is a continuation of those ideas.
